Terms & Conditions

In short: say where you will be, be decent about it, and understand that we are the noticeboard, not the minyan.

The agreement

These terms are between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [ADDRESS], who runs tzibbur.com. Using the site means you accept them. If you do not, please do not use it.

Who can use it

You need to be 13 or older. If you are under 18, use it with a parent’s knowledge.

Your account

Signing in is a code sent to your email or phone — there is no password to lose. Keep access to that email or number to yourself; anything done from your account is treated as done by you. Tell us at hello@tzibbur.com if you think someone else has got in.

What you post

You keep what is yours. By posting a comment or a place you give us permission to show it on the site. Do not post:

  • anything unlawful, hateful, threatening, or designed to harass someone;
  • anyone else’s personal details;
  • advertising, spam, or repeated posting of the same thing;
  • anything that misrepresents a minyan, a shul, or a place as endorsing you.

Comments may be held for review before they appear, and we can remove anything, at any time, without owing an explanation.

Messages

When you give us an email address or a mobile number, the form says: By submitting, you agree to receive messages from tzibbur.com and/or associated partners. You can opt out at any time.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply to text messages. Stop them with the link at the foot of any message, or under Advanced in your account.

What Tzibbur is, and is not

  • It is a way to say you will be somewhere and to find others who will be there too.
  • It is not a guarantee that a minyan will form, that anyone will turn up, or that the place is open, appropriate, or safe.
  • We do not check who anyone is. Meeting people you found here is your own decision, taken with ordinary care.
  • Places, times and existing minyanim shown here come from public sources and from other users, and can be wrong or out of date. Confirm before you rely on one.

Using it fairly

Do not scrape it, do not try to work out who is going where, do not attack it, and do not use it to build a competing list of people. Automated access beyond ordinary browsing needs our permission.

Our side

The name, the design, and the code are ours or our licensors’. Nothing here gives you a licence to them beyond using the site as intended.

Ending it

You can stop using Tzibbur whenever you like and ask us to delete your account. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or stop running the site altogether.

No warranty, and the limits of what we owe you

The site is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties about it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for anything arising out of a meeting, a minyan, or a trip you arranged through it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of [JURISDICTION], and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any right you have to bring a claim where you live.

Changes

We can change these terms. If a change matters, we will say so on the site before it takes effect; carrying on using the site afterwards means you accept it. The date at the top of this page is when it last changed.
